The below LCD is a Genuine-Apple part that has not been repaired or refurbished in any way. It was pulled (by us) from a working unit that was being parted-out. It will work perfectly and reliably in every way, without any sacrifices in performance (color/brightness).

They are generic/third-party displays, or genuine-Apple lids (sometimes even the lids are fake) that have had third-party/generic LCD panels (and internals) installed. Aside from the obvious shortcomings of all generic/third-party LCD assemblies--dull & washed-out colors, poor viewing angles, 80% total brightness of original part--these cheaper, lower-quality LCD assemblies often damage users' logic boards, usually killing the board's sleep function. The condition of the LCDs vary between B and B+, with very-good to excellent condition LCD/glass and very minor signs of wear externally. We have several to sell, and will pull the "best ones" first, but all are very acceptable/great condition and GENUINE-APPLE. Those panels are very poor quality (muddy colors, lower brightness, worse viewing angles, generally "dull") when they even work properly. Additionally, the fake ("new") LCD assemblies for the Apple Silicon (M1/M2+) units are FREQUENTLY FAULTY AND OFTEN DAMAGE LOGIC BOARDS. It is HIGHLY ADVISABLE--coming from a 20-year-Apple master technician--that you not use any non-Genuine Apple LCD assemblies for Apple Silicon models specifically! This is because many of these panels were improperly refurbished with Intel-model i. A2179, A1932, etc internal bits/pieces (camera, wiring/harness, ALS assembly) that were designed (data/comm/clk circuits) to run on 3.3v, whereas the newer M1/M2 Apple Silicon model LCD internals run on 1.8v. We have seen an UNBELIEVABLE increase in damaged M1/M2 units that had fake/generic/faulty "NEW" LCD assemblies installed. The primary mode of failure is damage to the CPU's sleep/wake circuit; you'll often notice the unit no longer sleeps (after "working fine" for a few weeks), and it's usually due to a damaged CPU. So, do not risk installing a generic/fake/faulty LCD assembly on your M1/M2+ unit--always use genuine. Pay more and avoid the risk, I promise!

This Genuine-Apple LCD Assembly is compatible ONLY with 2020 or 2022 A2338 13 M1/M2 MacBook Pro 17,1 or 14,7 (EMC 3578 or 8162) models. You can install a Space Gray LCD onto any color unit (of course), but under no circumstances should you EVER connect an M1/M2/Apple-Silicon LCD assembly to an Intel-powered logic board i. The 2020 A2179 Intel model--NOT COMPATIBLE! You will damage both the logic board and the LCD assembly. Do not attempt to install board into any other model than the 2020 or 2022 A2338 13 Pro units.

We provide FREE logic board or LCD installation service for all customers who would like it. Installation service is REQUIRED for all individual i. While we do not currently require it for business/retail customers, we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE them to take advantage of it, especially if they are not intimately familiar with current/modern Apple computer models. Free Board Installation Service is now required for any non-business/retail customer, without exception.

You work from your home, then please message us and we can accommodate. Our FREE installation service takes 2-3 days (after we receive your unit, assuming no other work is required). During the installation, we also perform a FREE full inspection & diagnostic of every component on your unit, to ensure there are no other issues that would prevent your unit from working properly after new board is installed (relatively common, especially in cases of liquid-damage). If we find anything that requires attention, we will inform you BEFORE any work is done. If any additional work is required (25% of installs), we will price-out the additional work for your approval.

In some cases, we may be able to repair your current board for 40% less than a board replacement cost. We understand this new process is not ideal, and that it may frustrate many users looking to repair their own computers. We continue to support Right-To-Repair, and encourage users to explore third-party repair options whenever possible (many are better than Apple themselves). Replacing the logic board in your own 2018+ Apple unit is not a process you want to attempt once, "for the first time".

Even super-enthusiastic self-proclaimed "tech experts" typically struggle with newer units; they will unknowingly knock or scrape components off the board (when retrieving trapped cables during installation, for example); they damage connectors (or cables) because they don't know how the connector works or where the proper leverage points are; they often use the wrong tool for certain steps, often puncturing delicate cables or stripping screws; they inadvertently damage or kill CPUs/GPUs by connecting liquid-damaged/shorted, faulty/generic, or incorrect-model LCDs to boards; and they carelessly drop small tools onto the board surface, chipping tiny, fragile, critical electrical components. If they are not, you WILL have issues--even with a perfectly-working logic board installed. In fact, many people who order new logic boards DON'T ACTUALLY NEED new logic boards at all, but another component instead.

These are all things you cannot learn or know to anticipate without frequent experience working on these models, period.
